Kilcreggan Visit

Met with constituent’s in Kilcreggan today and also visited Argyll & Bute Community Hub that will open in the village post office on the 1st of October in Kilcreggan.

This initiative is being trialled by the council and if successful will be rolled out to other rural communities.
This innovation was initially proposed to council officers by councillor Fiona Howard who is a resident of Kilcreggan.
Fiona is to be applauded for her vision to make it easier for residents to access information and services on a local level rather than having to travel to Helensburgh.
It was nice to meet and talk with locals today who all thought it was a great idea.

I also met with representative from the Kilcrggan business group. We talked about the challenges that our rural communities face, including amongst other things, transport, health and social care issues.
On a positive note I was able to highlight the success the hydro scheme has been for the people of Arrochar Tarbet and Ardlui and I have been invited to meet with their business group at their next meeting in Kilcreggan.
I am looking forward to bringing together representatives of Arrochar, Tarbet and Ardlui, to discuss what can be done to help our respective areas prosper.
